Description
Family planning in PMA2017/Ethiopia Round 5 (April–May 2017): modern contraceptive prevalence among married women aged 15–49 dipped slightly to 35.2% (from 37.3% in Round 4) with long-acting use at 9.8%, while unmet need fell to 22.8% and demand satisfied by a modern method edged up to 59.3%. Injectables (66.3%) and implants (23.7%) still made up about 90% of the married method mix, wealth gaps persisted (48.9% of demand satisfied in the poorest quintile versus 73.1% in the wealthiest), and although 98.4% of facilities offered family planning, only 14.4% of health posts had five or more modern methods in stock.
