Description
Family planning in PMA2016 (March–April 2016): modern contraceptive prevalence among married women aged 15–49 climbed to 37.3% , with long-acting use reaching 10.1%, but unmet need held steady at 24.0% and only 59.1% of demand was satisfied by a modern method. The method mix continued shifting away from injectables (64.5%, down from 74.1% in Round 1) toward implants (24.2%), inequity persisted with demand satisfied ranging from 45.1% in the poorest quintile to 78.5% in the wealthiest, and although 97.4% of facilities offered family planning, only 10.6% of health posts stocked five or more modern methods.
