Description

Family planning in PMA2015/Ethiopia Round 3 (April–May 2015): modern contraceptive prevalence among married women aged 15–49 rose to 35.8% (from 34.2% in Round 2) with long-acting use up to 8.8%, though unmet need stayed flat at 24.4% and only 58.3% of demand was satisfied by a modern method. Injectables remained dominant among married users (68.5%, implants 20.9%), demand satisfied ranged from 50.3% in the poorest quintile to 77.9% in the wealthiest, and while 97.5% of facilities offered family planning, IUDs and implants were still largely unavailable at private SDPs and health posts (only 16.7% of health posts offered five or more methods).
