Description

Family planning in PMA2014/Ethiopia Round 2 (October–December 2014): modern contraceptive prevalence among married women aged 15–49 held roughly steady at 34.2% (from 33.8% in Round 1), with long-acting method use rising to 8.2% and unmet need essentially unchanged at 24.1%, leaving 57.8% of demand satisfied by a modern method. Injectables still dominated the married method mix (69.7%, with implants up to 21.0%), use remained wealth-skewed (49.1% of demand satisfied in the poorest quintile versus 74.7% in the wealthiest), and while 97.2% of facilities offered family planning, IUDs and implants were unavailable at most private SDPs and at many health posts.
