Childhood vaccination and HPV
EPMA measures vaccination coverage, dropout and zero-dose children at the household, independently of the routine reporting chain, and assesses agreement between routine immunization reports and facility registers, as well as cold chain function and vaccine availability (SDP survey). For HPV, EPMA produced the first high-quality population-based estimates in Ethiopia and showed that, because the vaccine reaches girls largely through schools, girls who are not in school are missed. It also measures the determinants of HPV coverage among girls aged 9–14 and school readiness to deliver the vaccine.
